After years of traveling the U.S. and staying in Bed & Breakfast accommodations along the way, the Ford family decided to embark on a different kind of adventure and began working on opening a B&B of their own, in their home state of Ohio. The Dum home was built by Jacob Dum, a Pennsylvania native who relocated to Fairfield County, Ohio in 1834. He built his Federal-style home from bricks fired on the premises. Upon discovering this historic brick home for sale in the quaint town of Amanda, the Ford family knew it was the perfect location to establish their business. The home required renovation, and with their acute sense of historic charm, attention to detail and cleanliness, Dum-Ford House came to be.
This retreat is not just a place to rest your head during travel, but a place to 'call home' while you experience all the area has to offer. Rest assured, at Dum-Ford House Bed & Breakfast, you'll feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We have just what you are seeking.
